David Cohen, LCSW

David is a compassionate and experienced therapist, interventionist, educator, recovery coach, program developer, and director who has over fifteen years’ experience helping people to engage in the process of recovery from addiction and mental illness. He has been clean and sober since 1996 and is a very enthusiast recovery advocate.
He is a nationally recognized expert in the field of addiction and has helped thousands of families find recovery. David worked as the Vice President of Substance Use and Co-Occurring disorders with Eating Recovery Center and served Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation as both a counselor and clinical director. He also taught Master’s level social work students in addiction treatment at Loyola University.
He earned his Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan in 2003, and his Bachelor of Social Work from Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois in 2001.
